L'inverno arriva nell'artica europea e la trasforma in un posto irriconoscibile, freddo e buio. Durante le notti polari, al nord, la vita umana sembra sospesa, è inabitabile, come la luna. E comunque, è casa per alcune persone che vengono da lontano.
Tra i colli della Lapponia troviamo Moira, che, recentemente giunta dalla Grecia, costruisce un muro di ghiaccio, cercando di realizzare se stessa; Tito, che sviluppa fotografie nella sua camera oscura, pensando nostalgicamente alla luce estiva del Portogallo; e Abdullah, che, facendosi una nuova casa, cerca di dimenticare i tempi duri della Siria appena lasciata dietro di sé.
Io arrivo in questo posto lo condivido con loro. Amore, famiglia e scopi. Che cosa li ha portati qui? E per quale motivo rimangono qui, circondati dal buio?
Nuno Escudeiro (1986, Tomar, Portugal) studied Media Studies in the University of Aveiro, Portugal and Documentary Fillmaking in Zelig, School for Documentary in Bolzano, Italy. He works on different fields of the moving image, exhibiting both in Gallery and in Film Festivals. Besides, his artistic work, Nuno Escudeiro has a background in advertisement and in television.
Bernadette Weber (1987, Graz, Austria) is a Filmmaker based in Italy. She has been studying Film, Digital Media and Philosophy in different cities of Europe and abroad, graduating 2011 in Rome, Italy and is currently specializing in Cinematography at ZeLIG school for documentary in Bolzano, Italy. Bernadette has been working as a Cinematographer/Videographer/Editor in different fields (docs, shorts, advertising, music, theatre) and operated as a director in short films based in Rome and Berlin.
Vikram Arora (1981, New Dehli, India) is a student of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, India, specializing in Film Editing. In a past life, Vikram worked in broadcast and internet journalism for over seven years with NDTV, the most influencial media house in India. He has also assisted international award-winning documentary filmmaking duo of Nandan Saxena and Kavita Bahl.
